this one is sold, but johnny loves the ocean and sea creatures;so, you may be able to get him to do a similar one for you at a really reasonablr price. the one posted was reverse internal carving and reverse stained with analine dyes.

this is almost 50 cts. of fantasy quartz with some rutile xls.  it is superior jewel quality with the intruder loooking

these carvings are several catagories, usually depecting something about the starcarvers’ experiences, but some have been done for other individuals on a custom basis.  this one is not for sale.  john does have a couple of slabs to do another one or two, however.  these are internal carving/sculpture, but not quite as deep, about three fourths of an inch deep.

there are two sides to the face in repose here in this slightly citrine jewel grade crystal of brazillian origin.  one is female on the other side it is male.  on the third eye center there is a rising of opalesence , it is not for sale.

this is the” madagsk. orange” quartz seen on the front page of this sight.  there are over 20 different carvings inside this lovely jewel. there are four desert ponies, a red lizard drinking from the oracle, several pararie dogs a couple of jack rabbits a field of cactus and several artifacts.

oh yeah this is part of my major body of work and i cannot sell it, i cannot even find anymore of this quartz that is clear enough.

this is more of the jewel grade rutilated quartz that the carving of the one called “the message” is.  here there is a 5 pound cavernous crystal with a smileodon (extinct saber cat)  on the inside, i cannot sell this one and only rearely have any chance to duplicate this sort of total internal carving.

this is one of my smaller and sellable pieces.  i still enjoy doing the jewelery size pieces while i cut the major works i am involved in.  this is a chunk of fantasy quartz with hematite and feldspar crystals caught in the bottom.  60 cts. can be wire wrapped and worn or is large enough to display on a stand.  signed and dated by me, the starcarver, john koontz,jr.  all completely done by my hands.

this carving of a fairy and bird, is in s. dakota pale rose quartz of exceptional purity and jewelery grade.  bought by me from prof. ron r. of tv fame. this will make about 70 cts in weight and has a hole pre drilled  so that it can be worn immediately.  signed and dated by me and i am very proud to present it to you and also to have been fortunate enough to have bought a pound of material from ron back in 1999.

this turtle was cut from the bottom directally up.  it  is over one inch straight up; and then to the front and sides and rear there is over an inch and a half of painstaking carving done under a water flow and with magnifiers on.  not for sale, there are more of these to see, and i can make another on order. i love turtles!!  prices will be nego. according to what kind of gem grade stone you want.  this one weighs about 6 ozs. and could bring a 5 figure price,  when we were on tv we sold one for that number twice.

this is 27cts. of australian black opal.  lightly cut to reveal a sleeping buffalo.  sometimes a light flash of baby blue/white will cross the shoulder area, and i like to think of this prescious opal stone as a symbol of the american indians’  white buffalo.

this one is sold…you can see the difference in this 1999 turtle and the more rescent cuts i have done.  here i was first trying reverse stain on somethng i had held so many times as a child i cannot count.  this srt of carving can be had now at a reasonable price, e-mail to find out specifics.

not for sale.   the first large carving the,  starcarver ever attempted.  until about 1999 he had done gemstone sculpture and internal carving on stones of a few ounces, this one is 10 pounds plus.  the tv station audiance said there were cats in the background matrix and johnny found 5 he enhanced and several more he added just because.
